A Happy And Thankful Turkey Day

Talk about having ALOT to be thankfull for. It has been quite the holiday season already. We have spent the past couple of days in the hospital with my amazing dad. When I think of him I have endless thoughts and emotions run through me. I could not be more thankfull for him, and for all that he means to me. He is a wonderful example of a loving Father, Husband/Companion, and Friend. He has so much strenth, love, compassion, and patience. I could never of asked for better, because he is so much more than I could have even wished for.

We have put Thanksgiving on hold for a couple days so that we can enjoy it as a family. Which was the only reason the holidays mean anything to me.....FAMILY. I am not a huge holiday fan, but am learning to appreciate it more for the little things. I had a conversation with my dad yesterday while I was sitting with him that I will forever hold dear in my heart. It was just what I needed to snap me out of my bad attitude about the holidays. His advice to me was don't worry about the hustle and the bustle that people create, instead soak up the cheer, the smells, the sounds, and the feelings. It only takes a fiew words for him to make an impact on me...well sometimes no words just a look ha ha. But I wanted to share that with everyone. So that maybe you too can remember the little things that make the holidays what they really are. The sights, smells, sounds, feelings, music, tastes, calmness, warmth, traditions, and most importantly family.

A day for new court shoes

Today is the day! The day our little Ada Girl is sworn in. We have waited 6 whole months for this day to arrive, and it is here. We all met at the court house so that we could be present. Ada looked so cute. My mom got her some new shoes. We like to call them her court shoes. We sang her the new shoes song and she loved it. It was a little nerve wracking even though it was a done deal. They locked us all in the room, and proceeded with the agenda. Cal and Whit had to answer some questions and then say a little about what it has ment to be parents. They did a wonderful job. I cried like a baby through the whole thing. After it was all said and done we had a couple minutes to get pictures taken then it was off to get the paper work. Three taps of the court shoes and she was official! Welcome little baby girl. You have been a blessing and a complete joy to have around. Love you so much!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

My Grandma celebrated her 82 birthday this year. Well I guess I should say we all celebrated it with her. She is single handedly the most amazing women I know next to my mom and my sisters! I love her and look up to her so very much. I don't even know what life would be like without her, nor do I want to know. She had decided for her birthday she wanted to have a Bar-B-Que in her back yard on the patio. We had Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and everything else you could think of. It was a fun dinner. We celebrated with home made Vanilla Icecream and the all so famous Pepsi Cake (it always reminds me of grandmas retirement party, its a family favorite) It was all in all a great party, good food, great fun, an even better company.

Here She is getting ready to blow out her candles and make a wish.

Isn't she the cutest grandma ever!

Happy Birthday Grandma! I love you!

Happy Auddie Day!

On Saturday morning my dear sweet cousin Connor had the priveledge of going through the Temple in preperation of leaving on his mission next month. I am so proud of him and was sad that I was unable to be there for him. I did have a plus side! I got a happy auddie day. That is what Cal calls it to Ada when she gets to come hang out with one of us. And it was my turn this time. Yay!! Ada arrived early in the morning. Upon arrival I got the run down from Whit on what her schedule looked like for the rest of the morning. We only had one scheduled feeding and two little naps and I got to fill in the rest of the time with whatever I decided to. We played and laughed and hung out. She is so much fun and so darling. I could just eat her up. She fell asleep for a little while and I had to just watch her sleep. She make the cutest sounds, and gets in the cutest positions while sleeping. When she woke up she was so happy! I mean she woke up with a smile on her face, full of energy and ready to play.
After her nap we went for a walk with Brodie around the block a couple times. It was a really nice morning. The sun was out but it was the perfect temperature. Brodie would walk in front of us and on the side of us, Ada kept her eyes glued to him as he ran all over the place.

All in all the day was a total success. Although I think her naps could have been a little longer for her sake. I was so happy that I was able to spend the morning with her and enjoy all the little things that she does, and that makes her the adorable Ada girl I love. Thanks to Whit and Cal for sharing her with me for the morning. And a big huge congratulations to Connor Decon Mooney!!! Love you all.

Kristi and Chads Wedding

I had the privilege of doing the flowers for my friend Kristi for her wedding. I was so very excited about it because she chose awesome flowers and her colors were really cute. Yellow, blue and white. lots of white. They turned out really pretty. I only got a picture of one of the small center pieces and the bride boquet which made me really sad. But here they are.

The brides maides bouquets were made out of Blue Hydrangeas. They were really round and simple. The large center peices looked like the small one shown above but had alot of blue accents added into it and was about four times that size. They were in awesome blue pots. Kristi made for a beautiful bride and I was happy to be apart of her wedding coordination group.

Baby sitting Phil

Cal, Whit, and Ada got to go to Florida to visit Disney World and all the other fun places down there. While they were gone B and I got to watch Phil for an entire week. It was so much fun spending time with all three of my favorite boys Phil, B, and Brodie. We stayed up late playing and having fun, then would go to bed. I got to sleep on the blow up mattress with Phil. Brodie would join us every once in a while. But Phil just loved it. I believe he claimed it as his own after that. It was our little spot. It was sad when the week was over and I had to go back to my "normal" life.

I GOT A NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!

This has been long awaited. I have been talking about it for years. I finally took the plunge and bought a new car. It is awesome, and I am feeling close to worry free. It is a nice feeling. I was sad to see my little white car go. It has been the it thing of getting from A to B for since I was 17. I wanted to give a little shout out to all of those who have helped me over the years in getting to and fro when Benny Bubbles has been on the outs. Thank you for all the rides, all the times I have borrowed your car, for being a shoulder to cry on when I had been abandoned by Benny Bubbles, for all the love and support, and most of all for being as excited about my new purchase as I am. Thank you and Gracias!! Here is my new little lady! Black Lilly!

Happy 4th of July

Our 4th of July is filled to the max with traditions! I love it. I always know the agenda for the whole day...because it never changes. We wake up get ready and head on over to the parade. I don't really pay attention to the parade. I don't think I really ever have. The reason I go to the parade is #1 to people watch #2 see how much my grandma loves it #3 the kids. This was the first 4th of July for Ada and for Sloan. They loved it. After the parade we go home for a quick nap. This year Hills, Whit and I were put in charge of fruit so we cut fruit instead. Then we go to my grandmas and we eat lunch, play games and socialize. I love how chill our family is. After that its night time. It's time for fireworks and then off to bed! I love the 4th of July and spending the whole day with my family.

A new baby Chloƫ

Chloe Renee Baird was born on June 10, 2010 at 4:51 PM weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces!

I Barley made it on time. I was so lucky to experience and hour and a half delay in my flight landing. Why....I have no clue, when we took off we were only 20 minutes delayed. I was so nervous I was going to miss it all. Amber drove me as fast as she could and I made it just in time. I spent the rest of the week helping Leah out around the house and hanging out with her, Sarah, Renee, and Adam when he got off work. It was alot of fun to be able to be with Leah for all that time and to get to meet Chloe.

*Girls day*

Yesterday was awesome! My mom, hills and I took work off to have a girls day with Ada and Whit. It was a really good day. We had yogurt, almonds, and apples for breakfast. We then wathced ada get a batha and eat a bottle. She is absolutely adorable and we have fun oohing and aahhing all over her. I was so very dissapointed I could not kiss her due to the new addition on my face....a huge fat cold sore (I am blaming it on the excitement leading up to this fun day!). We watched Rebecca, its an old black and white romance film. I love old movies so much, and am saddened they don't make them like that anymore. We went to luch at Joe Banditos. After lunch we came home and I made Mint Mojitos for everyone with fresh mint from Whits garden. They were a nice little treat. Then we just hung out and had fun. Brodie and Phil got a long very well the entire day, there was a little growling when Brodie ran off with Phils bone, but he got over it quickly. The day was perfect, and went by way to quickly. I am so thankful for my sisters, my mom, and little Ada girl, and the blessings they are in my life. It was nice to just be able to spend time with them. I hope we start to do that more often. We forgot to take pictures all day but we got one. Here is the only picture from the day....

a good morning surprise

I ask Whit very regularly for a new picture of Ada. That way I can always have an updated picture of her as my screan saver on my phone. I love to look at her every chance I get. This morning I recieved a surprise text of Ada girl in her animal onesie. She is so darling and I could just squish her all the time. I love her so much! She is a precious little thing. I am super excited to go hang out with her tonight and see how big she has gotten since the last time I saw her, and squeeze her and kiss all over on her.

A time for spring dresses

Spring is slithering its way into my life very slowly. Its nice one day and snowing the next. Spring fever is really starting to get to me. I want to be outside all the time enjoying the smells, the warmth of the sun, and the sounds. With working, I don't get to do that very often. I have decided that I am going to be a spring dress girl this year. This came about because I was getting a little to comfortable with my jeans and sweatshirts, and I thought it might make me feel like i am embracing spring a little bit more.

california and a lot of love

I have not yet blogged about my trip to California because I have been having some major withdrawls. My weekend in California came and went faster then I wanted. I got to go visit my best friend Leah and throw her a baby shower. My flight left early Thursday morning, when it landed I was greated by a very excited and happy Leah and Ginger. I was completely thrilled! Leah took me to get a massage and sushi. Both which I love oh so much. And spending time with her was icing on the cake! She is my bussom buddy! I can't believe the last time I saw her was Christmas Break. We quickly vowed that we would not go that long without seeing eachother again. I hope we can both make that happen. We did alot of fun things, made candles, visited pier 39, walked around Sanfransisco, we partook of clam chowder, saw the sea lions, Rode on the Bart (an experience all of in itself), made food and treats for the shower, made breakfast, shopped, sent Adam a picture of his first strawberry, tried to make a fire (we were completely unsuccessful), took a walk, and enjoyed every second of eachothers company. I love that with Leah everything is always easy, comfortable, and so much fun. I am so thankful for her and her wonderful friendship. Thanks so much for the fun vacation!! I am excited to see you again soon. By the way everybody pictures are on the way. We had a few complications at costco.

Stay tiny forever!

I found a new favorite the other day! I have it as my screen saver on my phone. Every time I see this It makes me smile and actually brings a little tear to my eye, because I am so very thankful for Ada and because she is so dang cute! I visited last night and got to hold her and she was smiling and looking around. I think she is soaking us up just as much as we are her. She makes everything so much better! As Whit says she is the sweetest thing!! I couldn't agree more! I hope she stays tiny forever!

I also got to play with Ada....this was my most favorite part of all of the weekend! I could not get enough of her and her little self. She is the perfect tiny little package! Happy Easter to everyone!

The baby blanket for Ada

There is a slight story to this blanket. I bought the fabric for this about 4 years ago at a Holy Cow in Springville. I saw it and thought of Whitney so I bought it for her for when she has a baby girl. I got a call that They were accepted by birth parents! I was so excited I went home and stayed up all night making this. I was so excited to give it to her and Cal the very next day. They both loved it!

I am going to be an aunt!!

My amazing sister and brother in law Cal have been chosen by birth parents! I am so filled with emotions I don't even know what to say in this post. This is something that we have all been praying for and have been hoping for for some time now. We are all so very excited to welcome a new little one into the family. My heart is overflowing with love and grattitude for this precious little gift. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and support that everyone has given in the behalf of leading this little spirit to us. She will be here in just a few weeks!!

spring is in the air!

I am getting so excited for spring to grace us with its presence! I think I love spring and fall the best of all. Not to hot, and not to cold. Today Whitney, my cuz, and I went for a walk at work on our break. It was marvelous besides the fact that I was super winded from being sick. I am greatful for our the nice weather today and look forward to many nice days to come! Good bye snow!!

Cake Balls!

I have been looking for fun little recipes for treats for a baby shower that I am throwing for my friend Leah and her belly baby Chloe. I found one, cake balls! They are super easy to make and they are a delightful little treat. So what you do is bake a cake, and crumble it into little pieces while its warm. Mix in some frosting of your choice, and make little balls with the cake/frosting mixture. You then dip them in chocolate. I put little sprinkles on to make them cute. And here thy are! Little bite size treats.

Happy birthday Ash!

Today is Ashleys birthday, the big 25! We planned to go to Fat Cats to bowl and eat at Costa vida last night. It was so much fun. We all have not gotten together for a very long time, so it was nice to do something. We were surrounded by very interesting people to say the least. I thought at several points in the game I was going to be killed by the guy next to me that treated bowling as if it was baseball. There were weirdos sliding on the floor on there bellys, some crazy dances going on, weird outfits, and some spray paitned hair. All of which made the evening that much more fun. We are all very big people watchers.

The designated No.11

Nic was our designated cheerleader! He did a very good job at that, and also egging people on with there game.

Angelika aka "Susan" came up with some pretty cool stances, and bowling tricks! She was ranked a 37 for her stylish bowling.

The birthday girl and her other half. They always are so much fun to hang out with. Jeremy played a serious game and kicked everyones butts!

Can you see one of the crazies in the back ground?

And us girls. These are two of my favorites!!

Thank you so much for the fun night, and a very special Happy Birthday to my little Ashy!! I hope you had so much fun, and have the best Birthday ever! Love you.

Feeling Violated!!

I went out to my car to go to work to find that it would not move! I just thought something was wrong with the car, because that is not out of the ordinary. Hillary took me to work and I was upset all day. Mad that my car was once again broken. Whitney and Cal brought me home after work so I could cut there hair. When we pulled up i noticed that my car was missing its front right tire!!! NO JOKE, it was GONE!! Tire, wheel, nuts, and all....GONE! Whoever had decided that they needed a tire more than I had atleast placed my car on a cinder block. I fell violated! I have nothing more to say than that...VIOLATED!!!!!! It started and ended a very bad, no good day!

boutonnieres, bouquets, and carmel apples

I had the priveledge to make some boutonnieres/corsages, and a boquet for my friends sisters wedding. I worked on them all night. It was alot of fun.

This is what I started with. She delivered the flowers to me and I went and bought all the supplies.

Here are the ones for the ladies. They were orange Tulips with pink ribbon. They turned out cute.

Here are the ones for the men. They were red Tulips with brown ribbon. I decided that they needed a little more so I put little Pearls and the bottom of the stem to dress them up a little.

The boquet was my favorite part. I left the stems long and wrapped it with ribbon. The little pearl accent was cute too.

All Done!! A couple of hours later, 20 boutonnieres, 20 corsages, and a boquet. I was pretty proud of myself. She came to pick them up, and loved them. That was a relief to me.

Then the brodster and I celebrated with a carmel apple. It was a good night. Congratulations Jessica, you made a beautiful bride!!

A little snow beard

This morning we woke up to about eight inches of snow. Brodie loves the snow. He runs, rolls, and burries himself in it. This is what he looked like after he shook himself off. I think he is absolutely darling!

Salmon with Honey Mustard sauce

I love to cook! I am always coming up with new recipes in my head. Sauces can make any plain meal something fabul0us! Carrie my room mate and I had decided that we were going to have a salmon night, so tonight we did. We took a trip to the Sunflower Market and bought all our ingredients. After some preperation and time dinner was served. It was delightful. We had Bernaise sauce, Cucumber Dill sauce, and a new favorite Honey Mustard sauce to go with our Salmon and our Asparagus. I think it was good enough to share with others. Now this is a rough estimate considering i never measure anything. Enjoy!!
Auddies Honey Mustard Sauce
2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
2 Tablespoons Whole Grain Mustard
4 Tablespoons Honey
4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon finley grated Lemon Zest
1 Teaspoon Pepper
and a pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and searve
Bernaise Sauce
1 c. butter4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
4 tsp. tarragon vinegar
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
2 tsp. chopped chives
Place 1/2 cup butter in top of double boiler with egg yolks and vinegar, stirring constantly over hot (not boiling) water, until butter is melted. Add rest of butter, stir until thick. Remove from heat; add pepper, parsley, and chives. Serve immediately. Makes about 2 cups.
Cucumber Dill Sauce
2 cups sour cream
1/2 the juice of one lemon
1 Tablespoon finley grated lemon zest
1 cucumber peeled and seeds removed small chop
4 Tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped
2 Tablespoons small Chives finley chopped
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Pepper
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and it is ready to serve. It is better if it is prepared a couple hours previous so that it has time to get all all the ingredients marinated together.

A little trip to Vegas baby!!

I was asked to go on a quick trip to vegas with some of the coolest people i know! Kristy, Mitch, and Corban. The drive down was super snowy and crazy, but totally worth it. We stopped to get some dinner at a little mexican place...I forgot what it was called. Corban and I shared a shredded beef burito and it was simply splendid. I was in some major need of lik-a-sticks, but settled for super sized smarties. We made it safe and sound, a little late, but safe and sound. When we got there we revved our engines with some caffeine and doughnuts and learned a few gambling tricks and we were off to bed. We woke up the next morning with a full day ahead of us. We made our way to the Flamingo for a fabulous breakfast buffet/lunch buffet. The ducks and fish were very entertaining! Just a little secret, flamingos creep me out..they were everywhere!!

Here they are!!

And this is the crazy bird...I have no idea what kind it is.

And These are our little Turtle friends! I think i loved them the most.

Then we were off to the conservatory! We thought there were going to be butterflies but instead we were greated by this guy...what a surprise for us.

They have changed the exibit...We walked around for a long time. There was alot to look at.

The place was filled with Orchids.

I found Some really cool rocks with flowers.

Some of these,

and some awesome Kumquat trees. I really like those little guys!

After that we ventured over to the M&M store and watched a 3D movie. The lady that worked there was a bust, she hated her job and you could tell. It gave us all a pretty good laugh. Then we went over to the Coca Cola store and tried the sodas around the world. That was total entertainment. Mitch drang the nasty one from Italy, and the face he made was priceless. It lasted for at least 45 seconds! That still brings a smile to my face. Thanks Mitchie!! We went back for a nap and woke up in time for a 50 piece nugget challenge. We walked ourselves over to McDonalds and started our challenge. I got to 9 and started to get sick, I think Corban made it to 20 and went into a true nugget coma!! No joke, we almost lost him lol. Mitch did a good job too i think he almost got to 20. And Kristy She was the luckiest of all because she does not eat meat, so she got to experience all of our reactions.

Our last day there we went to Freemont Street. I was not going to miss the fried Oreos and the fried Twinkies Corban was talking about all weekend. They were just as marvelouse as he made them sound. I also had one of the best hot dogs of my entire life! I love hot dogs. Then we had a long drive home. Corb is a safe driver, so i was glad he was driving. It was kinda stormy, by kinda I mean alot. Everyone was sliding off the road, but not us. We got home with good time and all in one piece. Thanks guys for the awesome weekend. It was much needed!

lady sylvi

Last night I was so excited to go to the salon and hang out with Sylvia. We always have so much fun when we do her hair. We tried something a little more spunky and i told her it was blog worthy! Which it was if i do say so myself. I always like that I can use my artistic abilities on her. She has such wonderful hair to play with.

I like to think i am super crafty

A couple of weeks ago some of my friends and I had decided that we wanted to have a craft night. The project..magnet boreds with magnets to match! We all had a need for one in our houses so it was a done deal once we decided. I didn't have time to finish mine. It is now complete so, here is the finished product!
My magnets.......

This guy is sick!

It all started with a play date on Saturday. My little man caught a cold. We thought a play date with Buddy would be fun for both him and Brodie. Wrong! They did not really enjoy eachother. Brodie was busy marking his territory, and Buddy was busy keeping him away from his family. Before we left Brodies nose started to run like a faucet. He was down for the count on the ride home. It has since gotten worse. He could barely breath last night. I have never heard such a loud snore come frome such a little guy!

I have entered the blogging world!

I have decided that it was time for me to start a blog. I have wanted to start one FOREVER, but being the single gal that I am, I didn't think there would be much to post. So i will have to do more and be more involved to help myself get this going. First and foremost the camera needs to be found!
