The baby blanket for Ada

There is a slight story to this blanket. I bought the fabric for this about 4 years ago at a Holy Cow in Springville. I saw it and thought of Whitney so I bought it for her for when she has a baby girl. I got a call that They were accepted by birth parents! I was so excited I went home and stayed up all night making this. I was so excited to give it to her and Cal the very next day. They both loved it!

I am going to be an aunt!!

My amazing sister and brother in law Cal have been chosen by birth parents! I am so filled with emotions I don't even know what to say in this post. This is something that we have all been praying for and have been hoping for for some time now. We are all so very excited to welcome a new little one into the family. My heart is overflowing with love and grattitude for this precious little gift. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and support that everyone has given in the behalf of leading this little spirit to us. She will be here in just a few weeks!!

spring is in the air!

I am getting so excited for spring to grace us with its presence! I think I love spring and fall the best of all. Not to hot, and not to cold. Today Whitney, my cuz, and I went for a walk at work on our break. It was marvelous besides the fact that I was super winded from being sick. I am greatful for our the nice weather today and look forward to many nice days to come! Good bye snow!!

Cake Balls!

I have been looking for fun little recipes for treats for a baby shower that I am throwing for my friend Leah and her belly baby Chloe. I found one, cake balls! They are super easy to make and they are a delightful little treat. So what you do is bake a cake, and crumble it into little pieces while its warm. Mix in some frosting of your choice, and make little balls with the cake/frosting mixture. You then dip them in chocolate. I put little sprinkles on to make them cute. And here thy are! Little bite size treats.

Happy birthday Ash!

Today is Ashleys birthday, the big 25! We planned to go to Fat Cats to bowl and eat at Costa vida last night. It was so much fun. We all have not gotten together for a very long time, so it was nice to do something. We were surrounded by very interesting people to say the least. I thought at several points in the game I was going to be killed by the guy next to me that treated bowling as if it was baseball. There were weirdos sliding on the floor on there bellys, some crazy dances going on, weird outfits, and some spray paitned hair. All of which made the evening that much more fun. We are all very big people watchers.

The designated No.11

Nic was our designated cheerleader! He did a very good job at that, and also egging people on with there game.

Angelika aka "Susan" came up with some pretty cool stances, and bowling tricks! She was ranked a 37 for her stylish bowling.

The birthday girl and her other half. They always are so much fun to hang out with. Jeremy played a serious game and kicked everyones butts!

Can you see one of the crazies in the back ground?

And us girls. These are two of my favorites!!

Thank you so much for the fun night, and a very special Happy Birthday to my little Ashy!! I hope you had so much fun, and have the best Birthday ever! Love you.

Feeling Violated!!

I went out to my car to go to work to find that it would not move! I just thought something was wrong with the car, because that is not out of the ordinary. Hillary took me to work and I was upset all day. Mad that my car was once again broken. Whitney and Cal brought me home after work so I could cut there hair. When we pulled up i noticed that my car was missing its front right tire!!! NO JOKE, it was GONE!! Tire, wheel, nuts, and all....GONE! Whoever had decided that they needed a tire more than I had atleast placed my car on a cinder block. I fell violated! I have nothing more to say than that...VIOLATED!!!!!! It started and ended a very bad, no good day!

boutonnieres, bouquets, and carmel apples

I had the priveledge to make some boutonnieres/corsages, and a boquet for my friends sisters wedding. I worked on them all night. It was alot of fun.

This is what I started with. She delivered the flowers to me and I went and bought all the supplies.

Here are the ones for the ladies. They were orange Tulips with pink ribbon. They turned out cute.

Here are the ones for the men. They were red Tulips with brown ribbon. I decided that they needed a little more so I put little Pearls and the bottom of the stem to dress them up a little.

The boquet was my favorite part. I left the stems long and wrapped it with ribbon. The little pearl accent was cute too.

All Done!! A couple of hours later, 20 boutonnieres, 20 corsages, and a boquet. I was pretty proud of myself. She came to pick them up, and loved them. That was a relief to me.

Then the brodster and I celebrated with a carmel apple. It was a good night. Congratulations Jessica, you made a beautiful bride!!

A little snow beard

This morning we woke up to about eight inches of snow. Brodie loves the snow. He runs, rolls, and burries himself in it. This is what he looked like after he shook himself off. I think he is absolutely darling!

Salmon with Honey Mustard sauce

I love to cook! I am always coming up with new recipes in my head. Sauces can make any plain meal something fabul0us! Carrie my room mate and I had decided that we were going to have a salmon night, so tonight we did. We took a trip to the Sunflower Market and bought all our ingredients. After some preperation and time dinner was served. It was delightful. We had Bernaise sauce, Cucumber Dill sauce, and a new favorite Honey Mustard sauce to go with our Salmon and our Asparagus. I think it was good enough to share with others. Now this is a rough estimate considering i never measure anything. Enjoy!!
Auddies Honey Mustard Sauce
2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
2 Tablespoons Whole Grain Mustard
4 Tablespoons Honey
4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon finley grated Lemon Zest
1 Teaspoon Pepper
and a pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and searve
Bernaise Sauce
1 c. butter4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
4 tsp. tarragon vinegar
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
2 tsp. chopped chives
Place 1/2 cup butter in top of double boiler with egg yolks and vinegar, stirring constantly over hot (not boiling) water, until butter is melted. Add rest of butter, stir until thick. Remove from heat; add pepper, parsley, and chives. Serve immediately. Makes about 2 cups.
Cucumber Dill Sauce
2 cups sour cream
1/2 the juice of one lemon
1 Tablespoon finley grated lemon zest
1 cucumber peeled and seeds removed small chop
4 Tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped
2 Tablespoons small Chives finley chopped
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Pepper
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and it is ready to serve. It is better if it is prepared a couple hours previous so that it has time to get all all the ingredients marinated together.
